Civil Engineering:

The job opportunities are in civil engineering fields and software companies. Analytical and logical abilities and liking for the profession are the essential requirements. Department Profile:

Department of Civil Engineering founded in year 2009. Civil Engineering is considered as the first discipline of the various branches of Engineering after Military Engineering, and includes the Designing, Planning, Construction, and maintenance of the infrastructure. A strong foundation is laid with well qualified faculty and latest equipment to facilitate the gradual development of the department. All faculty members are presently pursuing Ph.D.

There is a wide gap between the requirement and the availability of Civil Engineers in all sectors. The investment in road sector alone is estimated as Rs.2.79 lakh crores in the eleventh five year plan. The opportunities open to forthcoming Civil Engineers are enormous. The challenge is to prepare the students graduating from the department to achieve the required skills and knowledge.

The department of Civil Engineering aims at imparting knowledge and skills to the students to make them professional civil engineers to serve the community and the nation, and induce the basic urge in acquiring higher qualifications and indulge in research activities.

The placement department got a head start during the academic year 2002-03. The brilliance, dynamism and high academic performance of students made it possible for the department to attract high profile recruiters. In 2003, our college was placed in 8th place among the top 10 colleges in Karnataka, under VTU. This was one of the factors which contributed for admirable functioning of the placement department.

The department is not only conducting recruitment process but also organizing necessary personality development programs for the students. For example, the soft skill training by the experts has been moulding the students in improving their employability factor. The department counsels and pours self confidence to face the challenges in the future.
